Getting Started
Creating Your Character
Before you dive into the world of PoliceMP, you need to create your character. Customise your character's appearance, clothing, and personal details to fit the role you want to play. Your first character's clothing is free of charge, so make sure to create a unique look that stands out.
When you create your character, you'll begin with two essential items:
- An ID Card: This will serve as your primary identification.
- A mobile phone: This mobile phone is crucial for all your daily activities. You can use it to communicate with friends, manage your vehicles/properties, access information, and much more.
Remember, your mobile phone is indispensable. Losing it means you'll need to purchase a new one, so take good care of it to avoid any inconvenience.
City Hall
City Hall is the administrative hub of the city where you can take care of various tasks. Here, you can:
- View Your ID Cards: Check your personal identification details, including your ID card and driving licence.
- Get your first job: Apply for your first job at the City Hall. It doesn't pay much, but it is perfect for getting you started. This is only a short list of the available jobs in the city. Why not explore and figure out the rest?
- Purchase an ID Card: If you lose your ID card or need a replacement, you can purchase one here. Having an ID card is essential for proving your identity in various situations.
- Purchase a Driving Licence: To legally drive in the city, you must have a valid driving licence. Obtain one at City Hall if you haven't already.
- Acquire Business Permits: If you're looking to start a business, you'll need the appropriate permits. Visit City Hall to apply for and purchase the necessary business permissions. These permits are crucial for operating legally and avoiding fines or shutdowns.
Hospitals
Checking in at hospitals costs £2000, but it's cheaper to get treated by paramedics if available. Visit hospitals for serious medical attention, but try to call paramedics for more affordable care.
Garage Icons on the map
Garage icons represent locations where you can store, retrieve, and manage your vehicles. These are also points where you can view statistics for your vehicles. These are essential for keeping your car safe and accessible.
Banks
Banks are where you manage your finances. On your first visit, you'll be prompted to create a PIN for your account. Use banks to deposit, withdraw, and secure your money.
Car Dealerships / Customs
Car dealerships are where you can purchase your first vehicle. Explore the map to understand the different dealerships available in the city.
Customs shops allow you to modify and upgrade your car to suit your style and needs.
Staying Fed and Hydrated
Maintaining your character's hunger and thirst levels is crucial for survival, and sometimes you won't even notice you need it. You can buy food and drinks from various locations around the city:
- Food Stands: These are scattered throughout the city and offer quick snacks and beverages. They're perfect for a quick bite on the go.
- Restaurants: Sit down for a meal at one of the city's many restaurants. This is a great way to fully restore your hunger and thirst levels while enjoying a more immersive roleplaying experience.
- Shops: Convenience stores and supermarkets stock a variety of food and drinks that you can purchase and carry with you. It's a good idea to keep some snacks and water on hand for those sticky last minute situations.
Regularly eating and drinking will keep your character healthy and ready for whatever the city throws at you.
Buying and Refuelling Your First Car
- Visit a car dealership to buy your first car.
- Head to a petrol station to refuel your vehicle. Make sure to keep an eye on your fuel gauge to avoid running out of petrol.
If you run out of petrol, you will need to call for a mechanic.
Clothing Store
Customise your character's wardrobe at clothing stores. Change outfits to fit different roles or events. Remember, your initial clothing is free, but subsequent changes will cost you.
Whitelisted Jobs
To apply for whitelisted jobs like Police or LHS, follow the application process specified on our businesses section. These roles offer more structured gameplay and responsibilities.
Illegal Jobs
In addition to legal jobs, there are also opportunities to engage in illegal activities. These roles and tasks are more lucrative but come with greater risks. Engaging in illegal activities requires discretion and caution, as any crime you commit will be reported to the police. Players must discover these opportunities on their own. Will you fight in the light as a law abiding citizen, or will you delve into the dark underworld of crime?
Buying and Selling Properties
In PoliceMP Roleplay, you can buy and sell properties through Dynasty 8 Real Estate. Owning property can provide a safe place to store your items, vehicles, and even serve as a base of operations for your activities.
- Finding Properties: Explore the city to find properties available for purchase. Look for Dynasty 8 Real Estate offices.
- Buying Properties: Once you've found a property you're interested in, visit the Dynasty 8 Real Estate office to initiate the purchase. Make sure you have sufficient funds to complete the transaction.
- Selling Properties: If you decide to sell a property, return to the Dynasty 8 Real Estate office to list it for sale. The real estate market in the city can fluctuate, so keep an eye on property values.
Exploring the city to locate these opportunities can be a fun and rewarding experience. Owning multiple properties can also be a lucrative investment, providing additional income and assets for your character.
Crime and Police
Any criminal activity you engage in will be reported to the police. Be mindful of your actions, as police and emergency services are actively working to maintain a positive city.
By following this guide, you'll be well-equipped to navigate and enjoy PoliceMP Roleplay. Immerse yourself in your character, explore the city, and create memorable experiences.
Using Voice Chat
Communicating with players in game is done in the same way as in GTA Online. Pressing F11 changes the ‘range’ at which you can hear others and they can hear you. This is shown on the bottom right of your screen. The default button for voice chat is N but this can be changed in the settings/keybinds menu.
Voice chat is turned off by default.
Ensure your voice chat settings are the same as the highlighted ones in the image.
If you do not have voice chat enabled, you will find it extremely difficult to play the server.
